ZIP GFD Production is entirely realized inside its plant, then it is totally made in Italy. This represents the ZIP GFD Value, where RESEARCH, DESIGN and ENVIRONMENTAL – FRIENDLY CUSTOMIZATION are the KEYWORDS of the concept of industry according to ZIP GFD Spa.

Technology and Environment

Making Zippers with the culture of man and nature is the guideline of ZIP GFD production. The attention to environmental issues combines with the architecture fo the plant and in the entire production cycle. In its third factory (2008) the synergy of new technologies improve the work of human resources and creates a new value through energy saving. A path that led ZIP to become a vertical factory for zipper’s production with EMAS Ecolabel Certification (EN-001384).

It is also equiped with a photovoltaic system for industrial consumption needs for electricity, aiming to ZERO IMPACT and has the Oekotex Certification Standard 100—Class 1 on more than 80% of its product range.

the family with Paolo Goffredo together with his sons Angelo and Claudio enter the world of zippers.

the current set-up has born, thanks to a series of insights by Claudio giving rise to the label “ZIP”.

The main concept was to create a full cycle production, with independent services, but always connected by an optimal “just in time” schedule able to quicken run orders. A brave concept, in contrast with industrial approach of the time, based on scale of economies.An intuition that proved to be farsighted and able to ensure both flexibility and operating speed.

The generational change led ZIP GFD to the creation of new projects. Since the nineties, with Pierpaolo, ZIP GFD looks forward to fashion and research, scoring several re-cords for innovative products and advanced technologies. With the coming of Giorgio, ZIP GFD is directed towards the search for a new corporate culture, which turns ZIP GFD’s attention for environmentally friendly products towards the use of raw materials and sustainable processes.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: MEETING AND TRAINING

ZIP GFD is used to realize worshops and seminars together with its customers and clients, specifically involving style offices with the purpose of sharing the best practices of zippers treatment along with their final use. This service is also widen to improve the Research and Development area in order to customize the product following the customer’s needs, in compliance with the 40 year old experience in this field.

RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

ZIP GFD is a GREEN oriented company and has a high energetic efficiency due to the photovoltaic. It is estimated to be one of the first companies to realize nickel free products in the field, together with metal and azo dyes free paintings.

Anticipating industry regulations, it has adopted environmental certifications currently validated systems ISO 14001 (Environmental Certification Rina), EMAS (Environmental Certification) and product certification OekoTex Standard 100 Class 1 (certifying the product healthiness).

Since September 22—2014 ZIP GFD is the FIRST company in its branch worldwide to sign a commitment DETOX by Greenpeace that provides for the elimination of 11 toxic substances in the fashion world.

Sensitive to the issue of safety at work, it has a DVR developed with the direct participation and identification of the property in the manufacturing process. Caring for corporate social responsibility, ZIP GFD relies stably some supplies to a laboratory where people with disabilities are employed for social rehab and integration. The property also offers rewards and sharing moments as the Christmas religious celebration in the company to strengthen employers involvement in the company Mission.

COMPANY RESPONSIBILITY

The attention to the human being finds is perfect expression not only through the commitment of Energy efficiency or sustainability, but also through a kind of participation within the human resource management, through various policies.

“Family-friendly” policy, to promote a reconciliation of family and work: working time has been agreed with the workers, in order to guarantee them a schedule that would allow everyone to be able to keep attention to the family, interests and commitments, both social and cultural (often also supported by the same ZIP GFD) in which they are engaged. Morover, it is contractually agreed that the lunch break takes from 1 hour to 30 minutes, in order to allow all workers (mothers in particular) to be able to efficiently and qualitatively lead their role in the family.

 Sharing activities to spread involvement: This kind of policy is highly appreciated by workers especially during religious holidays. The Christmas mass is professed directly in the plant to the presence of all the personnel and staff ending with a celebration and a buffet in the relax area. A moment of participation and involvement can make a difference in terms of group and motivation.

Overtime, different events and action have been held, i.e. through the creation of theme parties in the plant with the presence of children and family members (for example: carnival party for children).

Counseling and business coaching: next to the the productive activity, specified moments of meetings, active counseling and coaching are outlined between the directors of the company and the perssonnel, in order to monitor the level of activity, workload, motivation. For this purpose, the propoerty has also planned individual coaching activities on demand with a professional coach.

Social Responsibility: ZIP H Project. ZIP GFD in cooperation with Cooperative Sfrang in Bitonto has realized a project of social work enhancement, through the implementation of the social cooperative named ZIP H, which is in fact integrated in one of the cycles of production (assembly) of zippers. Since 1999. this project has meant to upgrade the skills of people with intellectual disabilities, both mental, physical and psycho-physical, through the implementation of integrated social and health interventions.

ZIP H | SFRANG COOPERATIVE

ZIP GFD in cooperation with Cooperative Sfrang in Bitonto has realized a project of social work enhancement, through the implementation of the social cooperative named ZIP H, which is in fact integrated in one of the cycles of production (assembly) of zippers.

Since 1999 this project has meant to upgrade the skills of people with intellectual disabilities, both mental, physical and psycho-physical, through the implementation of integrated social and health interventions.

ZIP H: THE STORY

In 1999, in the city of Bitonto (Bari), a group of young women begins a common training in work integration of people with disabilities.

In 2001 officially constitute the social cooperative “Zip.h” (type A in accordance with Italian Law 381/91), with the aim of working for the preservation and strengthening of the abilities of people with intellectual, mental, physical and psycho-physical disabilities, through the implementation of integrated social and health interventions. Today the “Zip.h” after scoring a massive restoration and renovation, inhabits a portion of 1500 square meters of the ASP “Maria Cristina of Savoy” Bitonto (Bari), building of high historical and cultural value of the early nineteenth century. Thanks to the continuous commitment with the Cooperative Sfrang (ZIP H’s virtual and organizational twin) the current site it’s an integrated pole of reference in the area of health and social services for people with disability.
